Bongane Mabunda,

Sales representative, Marshall Hinds and proud member of The South African Institute of Printing.

When did you start working at Marshall Hinds?
I started working her in October 2010.

What training have you completed in order to reach your career goals?
Business Management in Printing at Wits University got a NQL 5 qualification and received a certificate. I also did a Management Development Programme with Printing SA and have a Certificate; I am also a Certified Safety officer deals with OHS issues at MH. I am looking to do an Estimator Course to further my studies while in the business.

Why did you take part in the training?
When I joined MH, it was very difficult and I knew if I had to move from where I was I would need to gain experience, further my career. So I approached my boss, Mike Bath.  That is when I got the time in between my duties to do my Drivers licence and study.

What was the greatest challenge in achieving your current position?
I was new in the printing Industry but had a good background in Customer Service having previously worked for Woolies and Cell C.

I had no drivers licence and did not know Johannesburg well enough.  I started driving with a map and I used to go with the truck driver doing deliveries while learning the ways and seeing customers in between.

What quote or saying do you live by?
“As soon as you switch from a negative mindset to a learning mindset disappointment and embarrassment goes away. Self-hatred goes away”. Brendon Buchard. 3 times new York Times Best seller.

What have been the highlights to your time spent at Marshall Hinds?
I became a member of the Printing Institute of South Africa recently with the designation of Print Manager.  I am involved on behalf of Marshall Hinds in the Reach for A Dream Foundation which caters for children with Fatal Diseases. I am also a member of a Pool team Top Spinner in the Ubuntu South Gauteng. I believe I can still get a Degree qualification in the near future.
