11 Jun HP Indigo and Tyvek® – a magical marriage
Johannesburg – May 24 2019. If there is one thing that the vivacious Heidemarie Hinger, HP Indigo’s Commercial Media Manager, who was in South Africa recently, is more passionate about than HP Indigo Digital Presses, it’s helping her customer’s find new, exciting marketing opportunities.
Heidemarie, was in Johannesburg to visit a select number of suppliers who offer a various media approved and certified at HP Indigo’s certification centres in the US and Singapore.
HP Indigo is distributed locally by Kemtek, who sell and service HP Indigo presses and who have been outstandingly successful with a rapidly expanding user base.
Meeting at DuPont’s offices in Melrose Arch, Johannesburg with Denise Paul-Montanari and Bongane Mabunda of Marshall Hinds, accredited Southern African Tyvek® Distributor, Heidemarie presented a multitude of innovative uses of Tyvek® that open a whole new world of marketing opportunities for HP Indigo users.
Tyvek® is highly durable and comes in both hard, paper-like and soft, fabric-like structure which is widely used in graphics and as a mailing supply item. Tyvek® envelopes and Tyvek® mailers are common in any office supply closet.
Yet beyond shipping, the water-resistant material has numerous uses. Maps, books, race numbers, labels, banners, and packaging labels. Already, Tyvek® weather-stripping is used in construction as a water barrier for homes and buildings, and Tyvek® sheets are often used as a tent groundcover or backpack rain cover.
Artists, though, are becoming more and more interested in Tyvek® sheets for paper arts and crafts projects. Tyvek® has been used to create paper figures for animated movies. It has been used to design indestructible wallets, and Tyvek® is a favourite item for embroidered tote bags. It has even been used by fashion designers for wedding dresses!
DuPont’s Tyvek has HP Indigo certified performance for 1 shot printing mode and HP Indigo users now have the opportunity of using PrintOS Media Locator to find distributors of all approved certified media, locally in South Africa.
Denise from Marshall Hinds, said “we are hoping Heidemarie will be back soon so that we can show HP Indigo users some of the amazing opportunities when they print on Tyvek®”.
